Savannah was named for the Savannah River, which probably derives from variant names for the Shawnee, a Native American people who migrated to the river in the 1680s
For someone who lives on the edge of a non descript uk town ‘Sunshine and shadows in Savannah’ sounds like such an amazing post title…and the photos are! Love the dappled sunlight shining through the trees – sun and shadows are so good in B&W 🙂
I lived in Savannah for short while, such a lovely place!
